Some words from our guests ....
A Bientôt.

Great place to chillax. My husband & I stayed here for 2 weeks - peaceful, relaxing - lovely airy apartment.
Plenty of day trips and places to eat - with the lure of a lovely pool for those lazy afternoons on your return. Good patio area to chill with a glass or 2 with a BBQ or just passing the time with Mel & Anna the owners over a glass of Sarlanoix - I'm hooked!!!

Accueil très chalereux. Appartement de caractère très bien équipé et spacieux.
Merci pour le temps consacré aux enfants qui furent enchantés!!
A bientôt

The gite is situated in a stunning location and is very tranquil and peaceful. The gite has recently been renovated by Anna and Mel who live on site to a high standard. The accommodation was superb, furnished to a very high standard and equipped with everything you would need ... very spacious, clean, and welcoming with a lovely patio and pool to relax at after the day. Top all of this off with the most wonderful hosts. Anna and Mel are truly inspirational, they have done a great job in transforming this property and always available when needed but never imposing. Both are very knowledgeable of the area. Situated in a perfect location surrounded by beautiful countryside, very peaceful quiet with Cahors only a short drive away. Plenty of great restaurants and wine tasting, if you desire. Roacamdour is stunning. An abundance of fabulous wines and cheeses. We would highly recommend this property to our friends and family.
Mrs H. (July 2012)
This was our first trip to France, but most assuredly... not our last! Anna and I became great pen-pals months prior to our stay at Les Placelles, which made it seem like we were part of the family on the day of our arrival. Anna and Mel greeted us in the driveway with huge smiles and a French hello (one kiss on each cheek)! When we pulled up to the property, Lulu was grazing in the pasture, the pool was crystal clear, heated and refreshing. The scenery was peaceful and relaxing. We were in HEAVEN! It got better... then came Patches, Echo and Harry... very friendly additional members of the family that were extremely well behaved. Our kids (12 & 13) were polite, and talked with the adults for just an additional minute or two, then ran off (with the dogs) to say hello to Lulu and change into their suits. Anna and Mel gave us a tour of the home, a quick run-down of the appliances, and quietly snuck away so that we could unpack and relax. We were thrilled to see a fresh baguette, cold beer, and chilled wine in the fridge. The decor and cleanliness of the home was outstanding. I felt like I was home. The shower, water pressure and water temperature was dreamy. Great flow of air through the home from the front door and charming ceiling windows (typical for this area, but new to us). I was thrilled to look through the numerous home decor magazines that were left on the shelf. Tons and tons of reference material, maps and brochures were available, and the WiFi connection was flawless. Anna and Mel made themselves avaliable to us by giving us their cell phones, and said that if we have any issues (emergencies, vehicle problems, or are just lost), they would lend a hand. We appreciated this so much! We are already looking forward to a return visit to Les Placelles and spending more time with Anna and Mel. Thank you for your hospitality!
Mrs N. (August 2012)
A stylishly renovated, comfortable appartment, with all mod cons and a large private pool. Anna and Mel were incredibly helpful and a mine of information with regard to tourist attractions and restaurants in the area. We found the location very central for the Dordogne/Lot rivers and the numerous tourist attractions in this area. It was a pleasant surprise how traffic free the roads were. We will be visiting Les Placelles again and highly recommend it.
Mr C. (August 2012)
As two "oldies", my husband and I wanted a peaceful break without having to share a pool with other families. Les Placelles was perfect for us, we were given a warm welcome from Anna and Mel, plus the menagerie, who live on site, and gave help with directions, info etc when needed, but left us to enjoy our time at the extremely well equipped apartment and roam the grounds freely. The heated pool was so inviting that we didn't get to see all the attractions, Rocamadour is within easy reach plus Sarlat and of course the Dordogne river itself. The local shops are 3k and have all you need for day to day bits with excellent fruit/veg plus of course the Boulangerie/Patisserie. Avoid if you want to stay slim! Another 5k takes you to Le Gourdon, an interesting Bastille town with several supermarche and shaded cafes to watch the world go by. The stars of the holiday for us were the Red Kites who wheeled overhead riding the thermals waiting for 'lunch', as the fields across the valley were cut for hay. We counted ten of these magnificent birds at one time. So, friendly, helpful owners, a clean well equipped apartment, quiet countryside within easy reach of attractions and exclusive use of a heated pool, what more could you want, we highly recommend Les Placelles.
Mrs N. (June 2013)
We spent two lovely weeks at this gite. Anna and Mel were incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful, but not at all intrusive. The gite is bright, airy, comfortable and nicely furnished. It is also very well equipped. There is also a lovely pool. The countryside has everything... medieval villages, chateaux and vineyards all within easy travel from the gite. Overall our memory is of an excellent holiday and, if we were to return, we'd love to stay at "Les Placelles" again!
Mr B. (June 2013)
Mel and Anna were great hosts, relaxing surroundings, fantastic pool.....owners who live in the premises could not have been more helpful and never intruded in our privacy. Perfect location for exploring both the Lot and the Dordogne....car hire essential Superbly equipped and tastefully decorated....at no point was their anything we needed that wasn't available and we spend more evenings in self catering than we normally do as a result of all the above Favourite places we visited were Rocamodour, Beynac, st cirq la popie, Domme and best of all Sarlat for the market on a Saturday and the street entertainers on a Friday night....but I think Mel and Anna have more maps, brochures and insight than the the local tourist office...we will be back !
Mr B. (July 2013)
We had the most amazing holiday. We booked the holiday online both Anna and Mel went out of their way to ensure we had all the information and we needed before we arrived. On arrival the grounds, pool and apartment were exceptional, everything we needed for our stay was included. Both Anna and Mel were welcoming, warm and informative but very discreet, allowing us to enjoy this amazing setting as a family. We would love to return again.
Mrs McC. (July 2013)
This was simply one of the best holidays we have ever had. The accommodation, facilities and location are outstanding and we can't wait to go back! You will definitely need a car and don't go expecting crazy nightlife, but other than that there really is something for everyone - you can be as active or as lazy as you want. I would definitely choose the Lot instead of the Dordogne because it is so much quieter but equally as beautiful, even in August. The benefit of Les Placelles is that it sits right on the border of both valleys - as I said - just perfect!
Mrs B. (August 2013)
My wife and I stayed at Les Placelles for a week to break up a 3 week road trip in France. The gite is beautiful and if you like peace and quite it's the perfect place to unwind. It's spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated. The gorgeous freshwater pool is an added bonus, we've never swam in one before and the lack of dead insects floating around that you usually get with a chlorine pool was very noticeable. Anna and Mel are two lovely, friendly people who made our stay really special.
Mr O. (June 2014)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Les Placelles, everything that you could possibly need for a relaxing stay is there. The gite is perfect, beautifully restored and decorated with all home comforts. The pool and surrounding grounds were idyllic, tranquil and perfect for relaxing. The area is the most beautiful we have visited in France with so much to do. Our hosts, Anna and Mel, were invaluable in making our holiday providing us with lots of interesting information. We would love to go back.
Mrs E. (August 2014)
Anna and Mel were very welcoming and considerate hosts. The gite is spacious, airy and well equipped. The temperature rose as our week progressed and the pool was much appreciated. The gite and its grounds catered for sunworshippers and shade seekers alike! An excellent base for exploring the area.
Mrs G. (June 2015)
This was a wonderful gite, with everything we needed as a family ... to be comfortable and relaxed. Anna and Mel were perfect hosts; very helpful but not at all intrusive. The pool was fantastic and there was lots to do in the area. The BBQ was great and saw us eating outside most evenings, enjoying the peaceful and pleasant surroundings. Could not fault our stay and thought it was terrific value for money. Would highly recommend.
Mr D. (August 2015)
Thank you for a wonderful stay. The time was too short. We will recommend your property.
Mr M. (July 2016)
... weather here is good but bar is not quite the same as your terrace and there is no pool!!! Thank you once again for making us so welcome. We will certainly be toasting you when we get home with our wine booty ... Thanks for a wonderful time.
